About

Few riders bring the spotlight to women’s cycling the way Kelli Samuelson does, from her impressive record on the bike to her skillful management of the ascendent LA-Sweat Women’s Road Racing team, Kelli is passionate about the sport and she prefers to let her actions do the talking.

While Kelli may have cut teeth chasing podiums dreams in the Red Hook Criterium series she is equally passionate about helping others pursue their racing ambitions. Weekend after weekend, race after race, she plays director sportif, team mom, soignier, and factotum for the all women’s LA Sweat road team while they criss cross the country in pursuit of the podium.

When not behind the wheel, Kelli spends most of her time on the saddle and she is equally comfortable throwing caution to the wind and jumping into a van on the way to taking part in some crazy multi-day bike packing adventure through a remote mountain range as she is riding the local trail systems near her new home of Portland, Oregon or hopping on her road bike in search of long rides through the lesser known parts of Oregon.

Recognizing the enjoyment and satisfaction that she has received from the sport of cycling, Kelli has determined to focus on growing the women’s cycling community. Never one to be happy with the status quo and she can’t allow herself to sit idle while so many women miss out on the fun and fulfillment that comes from cycling. Kelli knows that it isn’t always easy and she knows it shouldn’t be, that’s what makes the sport what it is, and it was through her time riding that she’s realized that instead of relentlessly pursuing a professional career on the road she could make much bigger impact by pouring all her efforts into managing and guiding Team LA Sweat.

While she misses the rigors of training on the road, her new focus has allowed her to pursue other cycling avenues like mountain biking, bikepacking, touring, etc if it has two wheels and pedals she’s into it. In general she aims at being a Bad Assadore for women’s cycling. Her life has taken many twists and turns since she started cycling in earnest and five years ago she could not have imagined owning a professional women's bicycle team, so the crank turns.

In addition to managing LA Sweat and riding bicycles whenever she has the chance Kelli is also the founder of La Sweat Media helping brands find their voice and build their following.
